Warning: Lots of whining ahead...
I'm sure I'm not the only one who always feel even more stressed than normal just before a vacation. We still have a list a mile long of things that NEED to be done before we go even though we've been cracking away at it all week. Okay I say we loosely, mostly Brian has been busting his butt. I did help stack a bunch of hay last night, in my defense. ;)
So I made myself this rule...absolutely no knitting and no Ravelry surfing until the house is as clean as I want it to be before vacation. That means pretty much no knitting tonight! Which would be a whole lot easier if I hadn't just picked up my special order yarn for a an upcoming wedding present to be knitted. Oh, and finding a deal today on the yarn I need to make 3 more Christmas presents didn't help either.
(Can't you hear the yarn, "Knit me!! Knnnnnittt me!")
(And yes, that is blogger in the background. I can be lame if I want :P)
I'm not only a little overwhelmed with the to-dos and don'ts but also feeling physically queasy. I've had fast food for 3 of my last 4 meals (!) and I just spent $30 at the grocery store buying all the "convenience foods" that I never buy so that we won't have to eat out for lunch on our trip. Easy Mac, granola bars (I wasn't going to kid myself and say I'd make them between now and Friday morning), Little Debbie snacks (they were 4 for $5 after all), chips, MICROWAVE popcorn (I can feel my arteries clogging), Nutri-grain bars (those are healthy right!?), oh, and applesauce. In cups with foil lids. Are you feeling like this is the blog post from hell yet?
Oh, crap, hubby is home. I'd better quit whining and feeling sorry for myself and get something done so I can spend 5 minutes with him before we both crash! TTFN, and don't worry, I'll have much more positive things to say in a couple more days! :D

Whine away. :) This is exactly how I have been feeling. Way too much to get done before we leave and don't even get me started on what I bought at the store for the camping trip---ugh! I asked my husband who camping is fun for cause it sure isn't me---too much work getting ready to go!
However, even though there is a lot to get done now, hopefully you have a great time while you are away---and just think, you can take your knitting with you. :)
Happy Travels,
Deb
Deb - Thanks for relating, that makes me feel better. Have a great camping trip! Hopefully you'll have fun too once you get going.
LOL :) I sooooo know exactly what you are saying!!!! Everything from NO KNITTING (sniff sniff!) to junk food weeks to stress before a vacation. I just try to roll with it and tell myself that it is only temporary!!! :) And I am a total break taker...work a little, knit a little...;) It is like a reward for getting something done! :) LOL
I hope you have a wonderful vacation!!! I hear you about the food- I've felt like a terrible wife for feeding my husband easy stuff these past several weeks, but it was that or he was on his own for dinner. I'm finally pulling out of this 1st trimester funk and being more like myself again...
Try to RELAX!!! All your projects will be waiting for you! =D
Yes, I can hear that yarn yelling from here!
Uh oh! Queasy? Hmmm....
Anyway, now that I'm back at work, everything has fallen behind. Hopefully I'll be back in the groove by the end of next week. At least I have a 3 day weekend to catch up!
Yay! I opened my inbox to 4 messages - all comments from you guys. So much better than spam! :)
Jennifer - Good to know I'm not alone! I usually do exactly the same as you, work a little, knit a little. The only trouble is it seems I knit wayyyy more than I work lately. You're right about it being only temporary. I couldn't imagine living and eating like this all the time but I know some people do.
Julie - I'm so glad things are getting back to normal for you! Your husband is lucky that he gets meals. If I felt that sick Brian would be on his own! ;)
Angie - Glad you hear it to, I thought I was crazy for a minute there!
FD - Lol, very funny, NOT that kind of queasy if that's what you mean. Actually part of my fun day was getting my birth control Rx. filled. I don't know what is more expensive, a baby or $50 a month for the NuvaRing. Luckily a friend of mine suggested Planned Parenthood so I went there yesterday and got them for $22 a piece instead. We have great insurance for other things but no BC at all. Of course I could get generic pills for $5 a month but then we'd have a baby for sure, I'd only remember to take the first 2 or 3. I'm so bright. :)
Anyway, I hope your schedule falls in to place soon! It must be a challenge to go from summer schedule to school and back again. Will you be done with college for awhile now?
