Local & Eco-friendly Changes We've Made

We've given up Pop Tarts in place of fried eggs (from our chickens), canned fruit, and homemade granola bars.
A Sigg and Klean Kanteen have replaced often reused Powerade bottles.
Locally grown & ground flours have replaced ones shipped from far away.
Homemade laundry soap and dishwashing detergent have replaced the store bought versions.
Thanks to Crunchy Chicken I now use Crystal deodorant and The Diva Cup instead of traditional products
Wal-mart is now completely boycotted! (I have to admit I've been there occas. lately, and still not happy with their service!)
No buying fruit out of season
Shopping is rare and includes e-bay, craigslist, and freecycle most of the time
Locally grown popcorn from the farmer's market has replaced the microwaveable junk around here
Canning season has expanded to include: applesauce, apple pie filling, peaches, pears, & tomato sauce. Hopefully the fruit will last all year!
Homemade baked goods have replaced store-bought: bread, bagels, granola bars
No more plastic grocery bags, I either take my own or when I forget I opt for paper which we reuse for wrapping gifts, etc.

Recycling at my work - turning out to be a huge success!
