I have been taking a stroll around my yard every morning and evening lately. There is a lot of activity to keep up with! All of these pictures are from the garden today. I thought I would combine the garden update and Sunday Stroll this week to keep things simple. Plus, I have a lot of other things to post about this coming week.
Potatoes are finally up! Yay!!
I have picked and picked, eaten and shared, and yet till - the asparagus is going to seed.
The first row of peas is really growing. The second row is up and about 1-2" tall.
My little bitty lettuce. This was one of the first things I planted. It is growing very slowly but I'm just glad it lived.
The onions have doing great all along.
The garlic is huge!
I saved the best for last. Check out the blossoms on our new pear tree! This is the one that I just planted a few weeks ago. The pear tree that I planted last year has a lot more leaves but no blossoms yet. I can see this little blossoming tree from my window.
See who else is strolling on Sunday over at Quiet Country House.

I love your asparagus! I have just a tiny, very new bed (put in last year) so I am envious of your bountiful harvest!
The pear blossoms are wonderful. Mine are starting to leaf out, and I have blossom buds, but it will be a few more days until blossoms open.
I love this update on your farm! Thank you for sharing it!
Can you blanch and freeze asparagus? I'm not a fan so I've never tried it.
The pear tree looks awesome! I hope you get some pears this year, that would be so cool. If the other tree blossoms you might want to hand pollinate.
How bountiful your garden looks! It was hard to imagine this when all the snow was on the ground and we were all just dreaming of planting! Everything looks great--especially the asparagus and garlic! Congrats, what a "green thumb" you have!
Jena, I want to add you to my bloglist but should I list your blog as Becker Farms or Married to the Farm (per your blog header.) Let me know. :)
Aisling - At least you have some asparagus started, you'll have a bounty before you know it. I'd love to be added to your blog roll. You can use whatever name you like. I think Married to the Farm is a little more fun. :)
FD - I never thought of saving asparagus. Weird, I'm all about preserving the rest of the harvest. I'll have to look in to that. You'd laugh at my pear tree tonight. I took a picture so I'll have to post that...we're supposed to get a frost tonight so I wrapped it up in a thick bath towel!
Ruth - The garlic was very reassuring in the earliest days of spring. When nothing else would grow it was flourishing, making me feel like I really could be a good gardener.
